After a dizzy spell at work, I recently went to the doctor and found out I have high blood pressure. My question is What are some things, that you may have tried like foods, activities, etc., that have worked effectively to lower your’s or someone you knows blood pressure. Any tips and info. would be greatly appreciated.
Any tips besides medication?

I’m totally amazed the doctor did not put you on some type of blood pressure medication – unless – he wants to see if you can lower it through diet & exercise – then – report back in a few weeks or months to check the results.
No.1 – AVOID STRESS!!!
Stress can cause most anything. Learning how to avoid it or how to deal with it constructively is the key.
Dump the junk food, fast food garbage, & sugary sweet soda’s.
No smoking – no dipping – no chewing – no beer/ale – no booze – no drugs.
Get on a good, healthy, balanced diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables. Drink plenty of water, fruit juices & fat free milk to help keep the traffic flowing. Stay away from salt as much as possible. No fried foods, no greasy foods, no high seasoned, spicy foods. (When cooking some foods, you can substitute a little lemon juice in place of salt.) Never skip breakfast. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get up one hour early EVERY morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk – then – do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Get 8 hours sleep. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good nite’s rest. Leave your job on the job! Do NOT take your work home with you – mentally or physically. It will still be there the next day. It aint going anywhere! Don’t worry about stuff you have no control over. If you are not satisfied or are worried about your job – then get another job. Your health is far more important than some 9 to 5 job!
